HeatherGlen is proud to offer Calgary and surrounding area a golf academy that encompasses a high level of instruction with an affordable and fun atmosphere.  Our CPGA instructors pride themselves in helping golfers of all skill levels improve their swings and lower their scores. Lesson topics can include, but are not limited too: Full Swing, Short Game, Putting, Chipping / Pitching and Bunker Play

Monk Joel3Joel Monk, CPGA Head Golf Professional. Joel has been a member of the CPGA for 17 years, and is currently the Head Professional at the HeatherGlen Golf Club.  Before Heather-Glen, Joel was the Director of Golf at the Collicutt Siding Golf Club for 6 years, with previous employment at Canyon Meadows, Lakeside Greens and Priddis Greens   Joel has won 9 Professional Golf tournaments throughout Alberta, and has represented Al-berta at the CPGA National Championships on two separate occasions including a 12th place finish in 2006. Joel has a wide range of teaching experience including corporate groups, junior coaching, private swing lessons, semi-private small group lessons, large instructional clinics and on course playing lessons. Joel has a wealth of experience in teaching golf and is a valuable asset to the HeatherGlen Academy.  

CPGA PortraitCameron Latimer, CPGA Golf Professional. Cam in his 3rd year of his candidacy for membership with the CPGA, and is currently the Assistant Professional at HeatherGlen Golf Club.  Although a fairly new member of the CPGA, Cam has been involved with the game of golf for 16 years.  In 2009 he graduated with honors from the Pro-fessional Golfers Career College in Orlando Florida, where he finished 2nd in the year long school players rankings. He was also the Short Game Champion in 2 of the 3 years he attended the College.   While in Florida, Cam had the opportunity to learn from many great professionals with the PGA and CPGA, and is constantly reading and building his knowledge and understanding of the golf swing.


J.R.Hogan, CPGA Golf Profesional.JR MUGSHOTsmall Although turning pro in 2009, J.R. has been involved with golf since 1985.  Upon completion of the Professional Golf Management program in Charlottetown, PEI, he was,  employed at the Canadian Golf Academy as Junior Program Coordinator under Anne Chouinard, Head Professional.  J.R.’s hard work and dedication to the game paid off when he became the medalist at the Playing Ability Test for the Canadian Professional Golf Association’s Atlantic Zone.  J.R. returned to the Canadian Golf Academy as a Teaching Professional.  His time at this world class facility was spent teaching every level of golfer and covering all aspects of the game. This experience was invaluable to increasing his expertise in teaching the game of golf. J.R. has the confi-dence and skill set to help every level of golfer improve their game.
